Pavan K. Ghattyvenkatakrishna

Research interests

Pavan is currently working on a variety of topics ranging from Amyloidosis, Cellulose-Cellulase interactions and Protein-Solvent interactions using Molecular Dynamics simulations as the tool of choice ocasionally employing QM/MM tools.

Biography

Pavan was born in Vijayawada, India. The early part of his childhood was in Jamshedpur after which Pavan moved to Hyderabad the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Here Pavan prepared for the Joint Entrance Examination and secured an admission in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
After surviving four years of wild fun, fear, classes, sports and projects along with lot of baths, he was admitted to the doctoral program at the Department of Polymer Science in The University of Akron, Ohio.

Pavan spent two years in Akron finishing up graduate course work and the initial phases of research and moved to ORNL initially as a summer intern in 2006 and later as a University of Akron sub-contractor. In his spare time, Pavan builds clusters from almost-sent-for-salvage computers, learn German, go hiking, biking, swimming and catching up on movies made before he was born.
